Dot Delivers!

The Working Sheepdog Online Sale held on the 1st of July at Dolgellau saw a tremendous trade from start to finish, with strong demand for quality working sheepdogs once again reflected in the prices achieved. A total of 144 dogs were entered for the sale, attracting buyers from across the World.

Topping the sale at an outstanding £16,300 was Dot from Dewi Jenkins, selling to a buyer from Mid Wales Dot, a High Hills Jo daughter showed exceptional working class at only 14 months old, with plenty of forward gear to make her a quality trails or farm bitch.

Demand remained strong throughout the sale, particularly for fully trained and quality young dogs with potential. In total, 11 dogs sold for over £5,000, while 2 dogs broke the £10,000 barrier, highlighting the continued confidence in the working sheepdog trade.

Fully Trained Sheepdogs – Top Prices

Topping the sale was Dot from Dewi Jenkins of Ceredigion, achieving an excellent £16,300.

Closely following in the light was Mynach Jet from Poddy McKillop. A quality 18 month old daughter of Clwyd Bob, which has an outstanding future ahead of her in either the trail field or on the farm. Mynach Jet sold for a remarkable £12,600 and will settle with her new owner in Belgium.

Third top price went to Flash from Ross Games of Brecon, a flashy daughter of Ross Games’ Jim that sold for £9,600 and will settle in her new home in Somerset.

Closely following behind with a 4 figure sum was Cefneithin Mist by one of our sale’s regular supporters, Sion C Jones of Corwen at £8,600.

Further strong demand was seen for Jim from Alun Edwards of Tonyrefail, which sold for £6,900.

Another noted price in the fully trained section was Fly from Glen Mitchell, Wigtownshire which sold for £6,800

Huntaway Highlights

The Huntaway section was headlined by the outstanding performance of Frank from Derek Cheetham, Sheffield, a son of Ellis Rees’ Tone sold for a remarkable £4,200 and will settle in Derbyshire.

Also featuring in the Huntaway trade was Sassy from Dylan Williams of Rhayader, another of our sales’ regular supporters and selling for £1000. Sassy will find her new home in Devon.

Partly Trained Sheepdogs

Topping the partly trained section, Mainstay Flash by Andrew Green of Carmarthen, a quality 18 months old daughter of ‘Moss’, Sion Morgan. Flash sold for £6,100 and will settle in Argyll with her new owner.

Another highlight of the partly trained section was Jill, by one of our sales’ regular supporters, Huw Francis, Llanfyllin. Jill, sired by Gelli Rod sold for £4,500 and will stay in Wales with her new owner.

Also stamping there mark in the partly trained section was Rainow Rose by Colin Pickford which sold for £4,250.

Top Priced Pups!

Topping the pup section was Peg, by Ruscombe Jones, Raglan. Peg, a quality 4 months old daughter of Sam (R Games) sold for £2,750 and will head to her new home in the USA.

Another highlight of the pup section was Floss, by one of our sales’ regular supporters, Ross Games. Floss sold for £2,150 and will also find her new home in the USA.

Also reaching the £2000 mark in the pup section was Sue, by Neville Redman, Torfaen. Sue sold for £2000 and will settle in Dumfries to start her training.
