Another strong week at Machynlleth, with numbers holding firm and clear evidence that customers are returning week after week. It was also great to see new customers who were with us last week coming back again, which is a real reflection of the continued support for the market. Lambs were a little more difficult to place this week, partic ularly the less fleshed sorts. However, the smart, well-fleshed lambs were a completely different story, they were in strong demand, sold very well and continued to achieve an excellent PPK. Once again, it is important to emphasise that lambs must have plenty of meat on them to command the best possible prices. Cull ewes were slightly easier on the week, with the stronger-meated ewes generally back by around £10. The plainer ewes were trading in the region of £80–£110, whilst the leanest sorts were making approximately £30–£70. A big thank you, as always, to all the staff for their hard work week in, week out, and to all our customers and supporters for their continued backing and support – Dyfan.
