It’s great to see the market in Machynlleth getting busier as the season progresses, with new season lambs arriving from all directions and reaching a tidy total of 601. Lambs saw a little more resistance as the week went on, with prices easing slightly. Despite this, the strongest and meatiest lambs sold from 450ppk to 478ppk. Remember, lambs that are well-fleshed are the ones achieving the strongest prices. Old ewes and rams were trading at similar prices. There were not many strong, powerful sheep on show today, but despite this, firm prices were seen from start to finish, with everyone leaving happy.
